Over the years, we've collected several natural alternatives to expensive spa treatments and store-bought cosmetics that contain other additives.
We've included seven tips that can be used to help you pamper yourself, prepare your hair for your upcoming nuptials or simply relax at the end of a busy business week.
1. Don't wear your hair in the same style everyday especially if you part your hair, you're stressing the same sections every time you style.
2. Banish dandruff: Heat a few ounces of olive oil until lukewarm. Wet your hair and apply the oil directly to your scalp with a cotton ball. Section your hair as you apply so only your scalp is treated. Put on a shower cap and relax for 30-minutes before you wash with your favorite shampoo.
3. Silky Hair: After shampooing, rub a mixture of olive oil, egg yolk, the juice of a lemon and little beer into your hair. Leave for 5-minutes and wash out. This will nourish your hair and make it shine.
4. Split Ends: Warm 1/2 a cup of olive oil and apply it through your hair making sure that the oil reaches the ends. Wrap your head in a hot towel and wait for half an hour. Add an egg yolk to your shampoo and wash your hair. To clean the hair of any residue, rinse finally with a mixture of Apple Cider Vinegar (1/2 cup to 1-gallon of water).
5. Hair Mask: Combine 2-tablespoons each of sesame oil, honey, Aloe Vera, avocado and 1 egg in a blender until smooth. Message the mixture through your hair after you shampoo leave on for 15-20 minutes, rinse well and shampoo.
6. Thinning Hair: Message rosemary oil into your hair before each shampoo. This can be very helpful as a natural stimulant to increase circulation to the scalp and encourage hair growth.
7. Dry Hair: Monthly oil treatment for over-processed, over-styled hair - warm 1/4 cup each of olive oil and almond oil - add 10-drops of rosemary oil to the warm liquid, apply to your hair in sections, message with the fingers, cover with a shower cap and relax for 30-minutes before you shampoo.
